My story

My work is a journey of discovery into the world around me, into the other, and above all into the truth within myself. A journey from the outside in, with the ultimate destination of finding a home within myself. Through an exploratory and physical way of working, I investigate the interplay between restriction and freedom, and how my body, mind and spirit relate to these forces.

When does adapting and fitting in reach a point where I want to break free? Where do I feel the pressure of what is expected of me, and where does the desire for freedom emerge? It is precisely at the intersections where two boundaries meet that a threshold emerges for me — a space in which action becomes necessary. These are moments of choice, moments in which something becomes visible through the body.

I am drawn to the physical and sensory aspects of making. By taking the body as my starting point, my own being becomes tangible and I am able to place myself more fully in the here and now. At the same time, stillness and surrender can be an answer to what presents itself. Immersing myself in heaviness in order to release the need for control: restricting in order to liberate, as in my M2 project.

My research focuses on how body, mind and spirit unfold and transform through the making of art, but also in everyday life. Work, relationships and motherhood are intertwined with my artistic practice. Where do I adapt? Where do I want to break free? What is awakened within me, and can I investigate this while remaining peacefully present in my body? This journey of discovery has increasingly led me inward. The answer the universe gave me to the question of what I needed to do to be happy was simple, yet difficult: simply be. Be fully present. Sit with the restlessness and pain that arise, rather than continually searching for something outside myself.

My body has increasingly become a place of exploration, connection and transformation. Through energetic bodywork, shamanism and meditation, a capacity for self-healing awakened within me. My hands play an important role in this process: they move intuitively, as if knowing where tension and pain are stored within the body.

As a result, the nature of my work has also changed. Where I previously responded primarily to the outside world and focused on adapting and fitting in, I now increasingly turn towards intuitively exploring and bringing my inner world into form. I see myself as a medium for what flows through me.

By working with my body, my personal space and the elements around me, I seek to set something in motion. I want to transform in order to reconnect: with my body, with others, with the earth and with the greater whole. And I hope to invite others into this experience with me.
